This week at the Our Generation Training Center we have the opportunity to be part of Vision Baptist Missions’ Orientation. What an opportunity for these young students at the O.G.T.C. to be with almost 20 missionary families including 3 veteran missionaries who have spent decades on the field. The students will spend the entire week at a camp where they will end up with a total of 52 hours of class time. They will learn from men like Jeff Bush, Director of Vision Baptist Missions, who has been on the foreign field for 12 years and has planted multiple churches, started a Bible college that currently has 30+ students, and began radio program in Argentina. Chris Gardner, who has been a missionary for over 20 years, has started multiple churches and has seen men from his ministry in Peru go all over the world with the Gospel. Austin Gardner has started dozens of churches and has trained men who are missionaries all over the world.
This first night has already been a huge encouragement and challenge for everyone that attends, and the O.G.T.C. students had the opportunity to be part of it. God is working at Vision Baptist Missions. They currently have 31 missionaries and 3 missionary interns. I can’t thank Jeff Bush and the VBM staff enough for not only allowing (and not just allowing) but also insisting that the O.G.T.C. students go. This week will serve to better equip our students to do the ministry God has for them on the foreign field.
Class started at 6:45pm and didn’t stop until 11:30 at night. The topics discussed that have ranged from “Getting Prepared for the Mission Field,” to “Discipleship,” to “Being Disciplined in the Ministry.” I can honestly sat that this first night has been extremely challenging even for me. I know that God wants the world evangelized in this generation and the only way we will accomplish this is by training this generation. That is why meetings like this Orientation are vital for equipping the students at the O.G.T.C. I can’t thank Jeff Bush enough for hosting and setting up the Orientation. Please pray for the rest of the week as we seek to evangelize the world in this generation.
